More than a year ago, Gen Z alumnus Mr. Đỗ Tấn Lực boarded a flight to Japan equipped with little more than a diploma and a fierce ambition to shape his future. Today, he returned to his alma mater as an engineer at Ajikawa Iron Works Co., Ltd., driven by a new mission: serving as a bridge to inspire and empower the next generation of global students.
From KGC to Japan’s Engineering Sector
Born into a hardworking farming family, Lực’s drive stemmed from a desire to ease his parents' burdens. He transformed his time at Kien Giang College (KGC) into a launching pad, actively mastering both technical expertise and practical workplace skills.

Recognizing his potential, KGC guided Lực beyond local boundaries. Instead of choosing a safe career path at home, the Automotive Engineering (Class 15) graduate fast-tracked his career by joining the Engineer Visa program in Japan. He secured a position at Ajikawa Iron Works Co., Ltd., a prominent name in Japan’s steel and mechanical industry—a testament to his determination and KGC’s high-quality training.

Becoming the Family Anchor
Relocating to a new country meant navigating cultural barriers, language gaps, and the high-pressure environment of heavy industry. "Whenever exhaustion hit, thinking of my parents back home gave me the strength to push forward," Lực shared.
His resilience paid off. Today, Lực is the primary financial anchor for his family. His success has relieved his parents' financial burdens, renovated their family home, and secured a stable education for his younger sister.
Returning to Pay It Forward
During a recent leave in May 2026, Lực chose to return to KGC, stepping onto the stage as a keynote speaker at a student seminar.

Moving away from theory, Lực delivered raw, practical insights on mastering Japanese, adapting to intense industrial workflows, and converting workplace pressure into a competitive edge. His story injected a wave of motivation into current students navigating their career paths.
Looking ahead, Lực aims to establish his own venture. "My ultimate goal is to launch a company that serves as a safe, reliable bridge, helping future KGC students transition smoothly into career opportunities in Japan," he stated.
Lực’s journey proves that global success is achievable with the right foundation. He stands as a proud representative of KGC’s training quality on the international stage, ready to guide the next wave of global engineers.
