In the vibrant atmosphere of the 1st KGC Summer Sports Days 2026, on May 16th and 17th, the Student Affairs Department and the Youth Union of Kien Giang College successfully organized the "1st KGC Group Gymnastics Competition 2026", the "1st KGC Cross-Country Race 2026", and the "3rd KGC Chess Master Tournament 2026" for students.
At the multi-purpose gymnasium, the KGC synchronized gymnastics competition was incredibly lively, with the participation of numerous young people from various faculties across the college. Many teams delivered spectacular performances with impressive coordination in each movement. Not only did they demonstrate serious investment in training, but each performance also radiated the spirit of unity, confidence, and youthful energy characteristic of KGC students. After a fair evaluation by the judging panel, the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages team excellently won first place; second place went to the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics team, and third place to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering team.
Continuing that vibrant atmosphere, the cross-country race held on May 17th attracted a large number of athletes. The images of strong strides, sweat, and radiant smiles after completing the race will surely leave a beautiful impression on every participant. The final results were decided as follows:
- Women's category (25 athletes): First Place: Lê Thị Bích Như - Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine9+ batch 5; Second Place: Nguyễn Thị Thanh Hương - Hotel Management 2batch 5; Third Place: Nguyễn Thị Ánh Tuyết - Hotel Management1 batch 18; Honorable Mention: Tôn Nguyễn Thiên Nhiên - Hotel Management 2batch 5; Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Ánh - Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine9+ batch 5.
- Men's category (45 athletes): First Place: Phan Thành Đạt - Veterinary Servicesbatch 18; Second Place: Nguyễn Văn Tố - Hotel Management 1batch 18; Third Place: Danh Thanh Lợi - Hotel Management2, 9+ batch 4; Honorable Mention: Tống Phú Thọ - Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering 2, batch 19; Nguyễn Hùynh Hải Đăng - Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology 1, batch 19.
Alongside the energetic sporting events, the KGC Chess Masters Tournament also attracted great interest from students who are passionate about chess. With the participation of 16 competitors, each match was filled with tension, strategy, and excitement, bringing memorable moments to both players and spectators. After many intense rounds, student Nguyễn Duy Thắng – Automation Engineering Technology batch 19 – excellently claimed the championship title. The Second Prize was awarded to Nguyễn Hòang – Applied Informatics 3, 9+ batch 5, while the Third Prize went to Nguyễn Chí Nguyên – Information Technology batch 19. In addition, student Trần Minh Thuận – Applied Informatics 2, 9+ batch 4 – received the Consolation Prize.
Through this series of sports activities, Kien Giang College continues to affirm its comprehensive training orientation, focusing not only on equipping students with professional knowledge but also on developing physical fitness, improving health, and building a positive spiritual life for students. The festival also provided students with opportunities to interact, strengthen friendships, promote teamwork, and create unforgettable memories during their time studying at KGC.
